Harbenvale Charolais Stud was established at Mittagong, NSW in 1988 with foundation females purchased from Rick Pisaturo’s Mandalong Charolais stud. Extensive AI programs using the best available genetics ensured the quality of the developing herd. During this period we had an active show program successfully exhibiting in Canberra and Sydney Royals, & southern district regional shows.
In 1992 we purchased a larger property at Crookwell, NSW to allow expansion of the stud. We now operate two properties in the Crookwell district at Grabben Gullen and Kialla. Kialla is used for growing out our bulls with the remainder of our herd at Grabben Gullen. We currently have 100 breeding females.
The enterprise is geared around producing bulls for the commercial cattle industry. A number of registered heifers are for sale each year. To this end we have continued to maintain the genetic quality by using sires sourced from respected studs including Rosedale and Winchester.
Our herd is polled and is registered with the Australian Charolais Society and Breedplan. All animals are sold with guaranteed fertility.
